Team augmentation

What is team augmentation?

Team augmentation is a hiring model where a company adds people or an external squad to work as an extension of its own internal team, under its leadership and processes, instead of outsourcing the entire project to an independent vendor. It's used when the internal team already owns product direction but lacks the capacity or a specific skill to execute on time.

How it's used

It's usually contrasted with traditional outsourcing: in team augmentation, the company keeps day-to-day control of the work (planning, priorities, review), while in a classic outsourced project those decisions sit more on the vendor's side.

Zenit supports both ends of that spectrum — from adding specific capacity to delegating a full project — depending on how the company defines it during initial discovery. How it works for companies.
